This 2 in 1 device operates independently from the hub—meaning it can sound an alarm locally even when not paired—yet integrates fully with Ajax EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller via the two way encrypted Jeweller protocol, with communication range up to 1300–2000m depending on site conditions. When connected, the system’s interconnected alarm mode ensures that within 20 seconds of one detector triggering, all detectors in the system activate their sirens.

The device comes ready to use: it includes a pre-installed long-life battery (up to 5–7 years), and can be mounted tool-free onto any ceiling or wall using the SmartBracket system. Tamper detection features alert the system if the device is removed or the cover is opened. Real-time monitoring of battery level, signal quality, sensor contamination, and tamper status is available through the Ajax mobile and desktop applications, ensuring system health is fully visible at all times.

Robustly built for challenging environments, the Smoke/Sounder device operates reliably within –10°C to +50°C and in up to 80–85% humidity. Available in black or white, this elegant solution offers both visibility and compliance for any modern EN54-certified fire detection installation.
