Upon receiving a fire alarm signal from connected Ajax fire detectors or hub, the built-in siren delivers an alert of approximately 85–100dB at 1 meter, following the temporal pattern specified by EN 54-3. The sound stops only when the fire condition is resolved or manually muted.

Communication with the central unit is performed via the secure Jeweller radio protocol at 868MHz, ensuring two way data exchange over distances up to 1700–2000m in open space. The device continually monitors its operational status—including low battery, tamper activation, or communication failures—and transmits these events with precise device and zone identification to the control panel or monitoring station.

Powered by pre-installed CR123A batteries (with optional CR2032 backup for tamper protection), the sounder can operate for up to 5 years under typical polling settings. No external power supply is required.

Installation is streamlined using the SmartBracket mounting system, which allows attachment without disassembling the device. Pairing with the Ajax system is fast via QR code and the mobile app. LED indicators (green, yellow, red) on the device provide instant visual feedback on its operational state.
