Upon receiving a fire alarm signal from the system, the VAD activates its red LED frame, flashing at a frequency of 0.5 Hz, in full compliance with EN 54-23 requirements. The alarm is triggered within 3 seconds after a fire event, ensuring timely notification for people in the premises.

Communication is carried out via the secure Jeweller radio protocol at 868 MHz. The device maintains stable two-way communication at distances up to 1700 meters in open space. It constantly monitors its status — including low battery, loss of connection, tamper activation, and malfunctions — and transmits this data to the control panel or monitoring station with precise device and zone identification.

Power is supplied by a pre-installed CR123A battery, which provides up to 5 years of autonomous operation at a standard 36-second polling interval. An additional backup CR2032 battery ensures tamper protection functionality in case the main power source is depleted.

Installation is simplified with the SmartBracket mount, allowing setup without disassembling the device. Pairing with the system is quick via QR code and the Ajax mobile app. LED indicators on the device allow instant status checking.
